Lilo had pushed open the door to the bathroom when she noticed the house was quiet. Or quieter than it usually was. The house was never quiet. Lilo remembered Jumba promising to rent Wasp Mummies the Return of the Mummies for Valentines day while Nani went out on her “date”. What do grown ups even do on dates? Do they just eat and stare at each other all night? Lilo never really knew where they went since whenever she pried her older sister always just replied “Out.”

Staring at her older sister Lilo pointed to her pants and with a straight face said “those pants make your butt look big.” Probably trying to look fancy for David. “What’re you putting on your face?” she asked with a head tilt.

She looked down, and nodded,

“Yeah- I think I’ll do the dress after all, huh?” She grinned, then paused, looking at the line of facial products strewn across the vanity. She raised an eyebrow, and gestured,
“Which one?”

She set the mascara down and sat on the edge of the bed, nudging the chair at Lilo as she ran her hand through her hair and grinned, “Doesn’t matter, I guess. You excited for your night in?”

Lilo shook her head contradicting herself. “No. You should wear the pants.” Whether or not Nani took her fashion advice didn’t really affect Lilo. If it were up to her she’d wear a vampire camp every day of the week. She didn’t even really know why she commented. If she looked bad Pleakley would of told her before stepping foot outside the house.

Crawling over to the chair she peaked at all the tubes, some skinny, some chunky. Like people.

Examining her eye makeup, Lilo challenged her “what if you get an itch on your eye?” Lilo smiled big then nodded “Yeah I found my old masks and Jumba said he’s making popcorn with the EXTRA butter!”

“Where are you and David going?”

Nani exhaled and wiped off her mascara, to re-do it for..Was this the third time? Felt like longer. Her tights itched- Why was she wearing tights? She never wore tights. She didn’t even know what they were doing but she wanted to look nice, and God, she hoped her hair wasn’t too frizzy, the heat was being weird, and maybe the bruise on her elbow from running into the door had cleared up, ignoring the burn on her wrist from hot trays, and the bump on her hip from kids running around the rest-
